A few days ago, the Indonesian Ministry of Trade held a socialization event to socialize two regulations of the Ministry of Trade (Permendag) in the export sector, namely Permendag No. 22 of 2023 and Permendag No. 23 of 2023 on export policies and regulations.
Among them, License No. 22 of 2023 and License No. 23 of 2023 will come into effect on July 19, 2023. The measures stipulated in License No. 23 of 2023 include, from August 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024, the relaxation of the export cross-sectional area of several forestry and timber industry products (S4S, E2E and E4 categories) to 1.5㎡. From August 1, 2024, the export cross-sectional area of timber products will return to 1㎡ again.
Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan said the government supports exporters and businessmen to utilize the government's export facilities. He hoped that the government's efforts to revise several regulations in the export sector would encourage export performance and facilitate export flows.
"If you export these products, we shouldn't make them any difficulties. Whenever there is a problem, we help business players to solve it quickly. All countries will do this and export will be easier. We also regulate that the finished product Goods that are exported by the state because they provide us with added value,” said the Minister of Trade during the “Socialization of Foreign Trade Policy in the Export Sector” held at the Office of the Ministry of Trade on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
According to Zulkifli, the Indonesian trade ministry will strive to continue encouraging export performance by providing convenience and legal certainty to business actors. “These two trade regulations have been formulated in the spirit of commercial certainty and ease of business license administration for the export sector. However, we will always review and evaluate policies and regulations for the export sector to remain consistent with the spirit of increasing exports”, Zulkifli added
