The Press Service of the Federal Forestry Service (Rosleskhoz) has recently implemented a new function in Lesegais: from May 17, 2023, the control of the export volume of timber has been strengthened, and forest users can only issue electronic accompanying documents for the quantity of raw materials exported. document.
According to Vyacheslav Spirenkov, Deputy Head of the Press Service of the Federal Forestry Service (Rosleskhoz), this functional innovation is mainly intended to limit unscrupulous users in forest harvesting and transportation. "While these unscrupulous forest users have previously taken timber from logging sites in excess of the limit, this will no longer be the case from May 17.
Also, Lesegais users will no longer be able to create an EDI system for timber shipments, harvesting and transporting timber from that area if the amount of timber available for harvesting in a forest area has been exhausted.
Since last year, Russia began to adjust its timber export strategy. From this adjustment, it can be seen that Russia has more standardized management of timber harvesting, which has also achieved sustainable development of local forest resources to a certain extent.
