According to the Primorsky Krai government, Russia plans to build the largest dry port in the country in the Artem District of the Primorsky Krai. The project will be officially launched at the Eastern Economic Forum in September 2024.
A dry port is a multifunctional logistics center with a well-developed infrastructure that enables cargo owners to enjoy all the advantages of a land seaport. Get a full range of cargo handling services in one center. At the same time, the delivery time to the end point will be accelerated. Consolidated cargo at dry ports can be loaded and dispatched on regular trains. The project was discussed at the first meeting of the Primorye region's investment council headed by Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of Primorsky Krai.
According to the investor, the Artyom Transport and Logistics Center (Dry Port) is a high-tech complex consisting of modern railways, terminals, warehouses and customs infrastructure. The project is scheduled to be officially launched at the Eastern Economic Forum in September 2024.
According to Alexander Kashidze, managing director of FinInvest JSC, the investment in the project will exceed 15 billion rubles and create about 550 new jobs.
Oleg Koremyak, Chief Executive of Primorsky Krai, noted: "The Artyom Transport and Logistics Center will become the largest dry port in Russia, providing cargo owners with logistics services that meet international standards. It will provide services for increasing exports, Import and transit containerized cargo flows are served through Far Eastern ports and crossings."
Koremyak said that the project is a national project that can increase the volume of container transport from 3,000 to 7,000 per day.
