According to reports from WANTULA NYONDO, according to reports from the masses, the police in Isoka recently detained a truck full of 105 Zambian logs in Tuta Village along the Great North Highway. When the police patrol team rushed to the scene, they also found 73 logs were near the vehicle.

Further investigation by the police revealed that the truck was from Tanzania, with the registration number T926 DWR and the container trailer registration number T387. The driver is missing and is currently being tracked down. Generally speaking, vehicles transporting Zambian blood sandalwood need to present relevant and valid documents, otherwise they are illegally transporting timber.

As a precious timber resource, Zambian blood sandalwood is in great demand in the international market. Although there are currently strict restrictions on the logging and transportation of Zambian blood sandalwood, there are always smugglers who will take risks. In recent years, relevant departments have successively solved many cases with Zambian blood sandalwood.

It is worth noting that this case was a clue provided by the masses’ spontaneous reports. It can be seen that the publicity on the prohibition of transporting illegal timber has been effective. I believe that with the cooperation of the police and the public, related cases will gradually decrease in the future.
