According to preliminary statistical results recently released by the General Administration of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam's exports of wood and wooden furniture reached US$1.3 billion in November 2023, an increase of 1.4% compared with October 2023, and an increase of 11% compared with November 2022. Among them, the export value of wooden furniture was US$880 million, an increase of 0.8% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 15.7%.
In the first 11 months of 2023, exports of wood and wood furniture are both expected to be US$12.2 billion, a 17% decrease from the same period in 2022. Among them, the export value of wood furniture is expected to be US$8.3 billion, a 19% decrease from the same period in 2022.
In November, Vietnam imported 406,300 cubic meters of wood raw materials, with an import value reaching US$133 million. Compared with October 2023, both the import volume and import value increased by 10% and 10%. However, compared with November 2022, the import volume decreased by 16% and the import value decreased by 24%.
In the first 11 months of 2023, log imports are estimated at 4.054 billion cubic meters worth US$1.376 billion. Compared with the same period in 2022, import volume and value fell by 27% and 35% respectively.
In addition, the country's office furniture exports in November were US$23.9 million, a 10% decrease compared with November 2022. In the first 11 months of 2023, office furniture exports were approximately US$245 million, a 28% decrease from the same period in 2022.
