Which walls need to be load-bearing? There are only three types of walls: load-bearing walls, beams, and columns. And in many cases, load-bearing walls and beams, and columns are not connected. For example, for a wall that is 5 meters long, maybe only the top 3 meters need to bear the load, and the remaining two meters are no longer load-bearing walls.

Slotting and punching in load-bearing locations
It is not that the load-bearing part cannot be slotted, but there are relatively high requirements when slotting:

1. The depth of slotting should not exceed 1.5cm, because the thickness of the plastering layer on the wall is 1.5cm. Slotting within this range will not damage the steel bars inside. When the groove is 1.5cm, only half of the pipe can be buried in the wall. But don't worry, the walls will need to be painted later when the pipes will be wrapped.
2. The length of the horizontal slot should not exceed 10cm. This is because the steel bars in the walls are all longitudinal. When grooving horizontally, it is possible to cut off the steel bar in the middle.
It is not that the load-bearing part cannot be punched, but it has relatively high requirements for the depth of the punching:
Punching a hole in the wall, hanging a picture, or hanging an electric water heater are all allowed. But you can't punch the right holes. If you want to punch a hole in the wall and lead the pipes in this room to another room, it is not allowed.
Slotting and punching in non-load bearing locations
In theory, non-load-bearing walls can be punched and slotted arbitrarily. After all, these walls do not affect the safety of the building. However, it is still necessary to pay attention to the actual operation. Excessive slotting and punching may affect the stability of the wall. No one wants the wall of their home to suddenly collapse. Therefore, there are still some precautions when slotting and punching:
1. Horizontal grooves can be opened, but the depth of the horizontal grooves must be controlled below 1.5cm. This is because the horizontal cutting will destroy the stability of the wall, and it is easy to tilt the wall.
2. The perforations can be punched, but the distance between the holes is at least 5m. At the same time, the backfill work in the hole should also be done well, and the backfill with cement mortar. In this way, the thermal insulation and sound insulation effect of the two rooms can be guaranteed.
