Oak is an oak, belonging to the Beech family, with a yellowish-brown to reddish-brown center, obvious growth rings, slightly wavy, heavy, and hard. It is mainly produced in Europe and North America and is currently produced in large quantities in Russia and the United States. Oak is distributed in Jilin, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Hubei, and other places in my country. It is in the same family as oak and has a similar texture. It is generally called oak together with oak in English. Jilin and Liaoning in China used to have large output, and there was also a small amount of oak in Shennongjia in Hubei and Shaanxi. However, the diameter of oak produced in China is short and small, and there is no professional production in China, so it is not an ideal wood for furniture. At present, resources are limited, and due to forest protection measures, China's production has been very small.
Renovation Timber Oak
High-quality oak wood produced in China is rare, and high-quality oak still needs to be imported from abroad.
Characteristics of oak furniture:
Advantages of oak:
1) It has a relatively distinct mountain-shaped wood grain, and the touch surface has a good texture;
2) The texture is firm, the structure of the finished product is firm, and the service life is long;
3) High grade, suitable for making European-style furniture
Oak Disadvantages:
1) There are few high-quality tree species, most of which are currently imported from Russia and the United States, and some are imported from Turkey, Austria, Germany, and Canada. There are also many other regions in Europe and America, but the import volume is very small;
2) Usually imported oak boards have been strictly dried abroad and have good stability. Some manufacturers also import logs directly from abroad and cut and dry them by themselves. At present, the stability of oak furniture made by many professional manufacturers of oak furniture in China is very high. However, due to the hard texture of oak, it is difficult to remove the water. Furniture made without water may begin to deform or shrink and crack after a year or a half.
3) The phenomenon of replacing oak with rubberwood in the market is widespread. If the customer's professional knowledge is insufficient, it will directly affect the interests of consumers. The scientific name of oak (also known as oak) in wood science is QUERCUS SPP (the Latin meaning means "tree species"), which is widely distributed in the vast area of the northern hemisphere, with more than 300 varieties. Oak belongs to Fagaceae and Quercus. Oak on the market is roughly divided into two categories: red oak and white oak, but red oak is not red and white oak is not white, and the color distinction is not very obvious. There is infill in the hole of the white oak tube, which makes white oak widely used in wine barrels abroad.
Effects and uses of oak
It is widely used in decoration materials and furniture production because of its excellent material properties: oak is heavy and hard, straight in texture, rough in structure, elegant in color and beautiful in texture, quite high in mechanical strength, and wear-resistant, but the wood is not easy to dry, sawing and cutting. Oak is widely used in decoration materials, furniture materials, sports equipment, shipbuilding materials, vehicle materials, floorboards, etc. Slices of white oak and red oak are also ideal materials for the production of veneer plywood. The patterns also have the difference between straight grain and horizontal grain. The straight grain is more beautiful and the price is slightly more expensive. Due to the high status of red oak (OAK, RED) and white oak (OAK, WHITE) imported from the United States, which are as high as 10,000 yuan per cubic meter, some operators have been speculative, and rubberwood has been sold in the market. The thing called oak, the rubberwood sofa is called an oak sofa, and as a result, the consumer went to court and was compensated. Rubberwood belongs to Euphorbiaceae and is the aged wood of the rubber tree that produces rubber. The material itself is poor, but after a certain chemical process, the wood hardens and can also be used as furniture. The two varieties are related, and they are not in the same grade at all.
