Decoration material wood

Wooden keels are commonly known as wooden squares. Wooden keels are mainly processed from pine, basswood, fir and other trees into rectangular or square wooden strips.

Wood keel is still a commonly used skeleton material in home decoration. According to the use part, it can be divided into ceiling keel, vertical wall keel, floor keel and hanging keel. The advantage of wooden keel is that it is cheap and easy to construct. However, the wooden keel itself also has many problems, such as being flammable and easy to mildew and decay. When used as ceiling and partition keel, it needs to be painted with fire retardant paint on its surface. When used as a solid wood floor keel, the corresponding anti-mildew treatment is carried out, because the wood keel is more prone to decay than the solid wood floor, and the mold produced after the decay will produce odor in the room and affect the service life of the solid wood floor. Wooden keel selection points:

1. The fresh wooden keel is slightly reddish and has a clear texture. If its color is dark yellow, it means that it is dead wood.

2. Check whether the specifications of the selected wooden cross-section meet the requirements, whether the head and tail are smooth and even, and cannot be of different sizes. At the same time, the wooden keel must be straight, and the uneven wooden keel will easily cause structural deformation.

3. Choose a wooden keel with fewer and smaller knots. If the knots are large and many, screws and nails will not be able to screw in or break the wood at the knots, which will easily lead to a weak structure.

4. To choose a dense and deep wooden keel, you can dig it with your fingernails to see, a good wooden keel will not have obvious traces.
