Laminated lumber is usually formed by bonding planks of various sizes and shapes in parallel, depending on the intended use. The main products are beams, arches, and other load-bearing components. Parallel plywood veneers are sometimes used to produce special items (eg furniture, sporting goods, and novelty items).


Laminated wood has several advantages over solid wood. It can be used to make large components that are impossible to make with solid wood. The single sheet used in laminated lumber, due to its relatively thin thickness, can be properly dried without inspection (cracking) and defects such as knots can be removed. The structure can be designed with laminated wood according to the required strength, and the lower grade wood can be positioned accordingly. Also, since laminated wood is glued, smaller sizes of wood can be used, reducing waste.

Particleboard is another panel product made from wood particles that are glued together. Particles are in the form of flakes or flakes, such as flakes and strands, shavings, slivers (or chips), and fines produced by cutting, breaking, or rubbing wood. Sources of pellets include residues from sawmills (including sawdust) and other wood-using industries, small diameter round logs, defective logs, and logging residues. There is limited tolerance to the bark, if there is bark it does not need to be peeled very thin, the granules are placed on the inside of the panel. After granules are produced or shipped to the factory, they are screened, dried, granulated, mixed with resin binders and additives such as water repellents and preservatives, board-formed (batch or continuous process), and pressed.
