01 Introduction of pineapple lattice wood

Commercial common name: pineapple grid Former name: iron pear wood, grid wood. Chinese name: merbau

Distributed in Southeast Asia and other places.

Material properties: The wood is scattered with holes. The heartwood is yellow, orange-brown, with intersecting stripes, the sapwood is distinct, the structure is general and even;

Material: heavy wood, air-dry density 0.80-0.94 g/cm, staggered texture, relatively hard, stable material, beautiful pattern, very high density of heartwood, known as "redwood", oil-containing, moisture-resistant and termite-resistant, weather-resistant Strong sex. Therefore, pineapple lattice is also the preferred wood for wooden floors.

Uses: Suitable for outdoor floors, garden landscapes, outdoor anti-corrosion wood, indoor floors, high-grain furniture, interior decoration, door and window cabinets, vehicle and ship bridges, etc.

Material difference: Pineapple lattice is the most stable among the existing wood flooring species, and there are few after-sales problems. The material color is divided into "red pineapple" and "yellow pineapple". The red pineapple grid is also better than the yellow pineapple grid in terms of material, and its performance is also better than the yellow pineapple grid.

Pineapple lattice wood is currently the king selling floor on the market, and it is the best cost-effective material.

02Pineapple grid classification

Pineapple grid is a general term, which is generally divided into Indonesian pineapple grid, African pineapple grid, Malaysian pineapple grid, and South American pineapple grid according to different origins. Commonly used are Indonesian pineapple grids and African pineapple grids.

Indonesian pineapple grid

The material properties of Indonesian pineapple lattice are: slightly glossy, deeply interlaced texture, heavy and hard, high strength, dry shrinkage. It is difficult to saw and planing, and the gum is easy to plug and the teeth are oily. Corrosion resistance, slow drying, good stability and high density.

Due to the high price, they are mostly used in high-end places, such as: outdoor landscape wood, log doors, siding and other whole wood customization, flooring, carving, high-end furniture, interior decoration, temples, gardens, door and window cabinets, vehicle and ship bridges, etc.

African pineapple grid

The material properties of African pineapple lattice are: strong luster, obvious interlaced texture, very heavy and hard, high strength, and large shrinkage. Difficult to saw, easy to blunt saw, sawdust irritate the nose and throat. Corrosion resistance, termite resistance, slow drying, good stability and high density.

Good hardness, suitable for heavy construction, durable timber, bridge, port and dock timber, sleepers, heavy duty floors, vehicles, fishing boats, tool handles, etc.

Indonesian pineapples tend to be red, and African pineapples tend to be yellow-brown, and the color difference is more obvious. Indonesian pineapple lattice wood is hard, and feels good, and the oiliness is relatively high. African pineapple lattice has strong luster, interlaced texture and low oiliness. Indonesia's texture has gold in it, commonly known as gold line, which can be used to distinguish whether it is an Indonesian pineapple lattice.
