What is commonly called Finnish wood is actually a type of preservative wood. Domestic Finnish preservative wood is divided into two types: imported from Finland and processed with imported raw materials. The main material is Nordic red pine (Pinus silvestris), mainly grown in Finland.

Nordic red pine has good structural properties, with an air-dry density of 0.54g/cm3 (dry wood weight of about 540kg/m3). The texture is uniform and fine, and the quality is high. Nordic Korean pine grows in cold regions. It is a slow-growing tree species, with compact wood, low resin content, wood fiber texture, small knots, and higher strength than most softwood species.
Finnish wood belongs to the outdoor preservative wood that has been artificially preserved, treated with ACQ preservative by pressure infusion and KDAT (secondary kiln drying). Finnish preservative wood is vacuum degreased, and water-soluble preservative ACQ is poured into a closed high-pressure warehouse, so that the preservative is immersed in the deep cells of the wood, so that the wood has the functions of anti-fungal, anti-rot, anti-termite and other parasites, and High density, high strength, good nail holding power, clear texture and decorative effect.
Finnish wood uses ACQ preservative without arsenic and chromium. ACQ is the abbreviation of ammonia-soluble quaternary ammonia copper. ACQ preservative is a new type of environment-friendly preservative developed rapidly. Compared with traditional CCA preservatives, ACQ does not contain heavy metal chromium and highly toxic arsenic, and has minimal impact on humans, livestock and the environment, and at the same time has good antiseptic properties. Therefore, the preservative wood product treated with ACQ preservative is a safe and environmentally friendly product.
