Blockboard includes solid blockboard and hollow blockboard. The core board of the former is composed of juxtaposed narrow boards, short woodblocks, and wood strips that are glued or not glued to each other, and one or two layers of veneers are pasted on both sides, which are made by hot pressing or cold pressing. Its bulk density is 0.44-0.59 g/cm3; the thickness is generally 20-25 mm, and it is suitable for the decoration of furniture, carriages, ships, and buildings. The latter is made of thicker lightweight materials, such as balsa wood, honeycomb paper, etc., as the core board, and is made of plywood on each side. It has the characteristics of firmness, lightweight, sound absorption, and heat insulation. The bulk density of the hollow blockboard made of the corrugated core board is 0.28~0.32g/cm3, which is suitable for prefabricated houses. Fiberboard is a kind of board made of wood or grass straw as raw material, through chipping, fiber separation, slab molding, and plasticizing cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin under the action of pressure and heat. Binders and impregnating agents may be incorporated during manufacture, depending on the product's application. According to wet, semi-dry, and dry processes, hard and soft fiberboards are made. The length of the fiberboard is 1830-5490 mm and the width is 610-1220 mm. Thickness: hardboard 3 ~ 5 mm; soft board 12 ~ 25 mm. In addition, there is a medium-density fiberboard with a bulk density of 0.4 to 0.8 g/cm3 and a thickness of 8 to 60 mm.
