It is reported that as a key link in the supply chain between Swedish sawmills and its international markets, Gothenburg Timber Terminal, Sweden, recently stated that it has strengthened the port’s overall value proposition and role as a full-service port for the forest industry to meet the growing needs of the Swedish forestry industry. Export demand and contributes to the port becoming Sweden's forest port.
Antti Laakso, senior business development manager at the Port of Gothenburg Authority, explained that being able to provide efficient transshipment of sawn wood products is an important addition to the existing forest products handling at the Port of Gothenburg, which also includes paper, cardboard and pulp.

As Sweden's timber exports are booming, in 2022, Swedish sawn timber exports increased by 9% year-on-year to 13.8 million cubic meters, setting a record for Sweden's second-highest timber sawn timber exports in history.
According to data released by my country's customs, in the first nine months of this year, Sweden's total timber exports to my country exceeded 690,000 cubic meters, a significant year-on-year increase of 77%; the total export value reached 968.77 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.2%.

Among them, January to April this year have become the most concentrated months for Swedish timber arriving in Hong Kong so far. February has become the month with the largest number of arrivals in the same period in 2022 and 2023, exceeding 120,000 cubic meters.
It is worth noting that although January and February coincide with the Spring Festival holiday, the quantity of Swedish timber arriving at the port has not been reduced due to the holiday. Judging from the quarterly import data, the first quarter has become the quarter with the largest import volume so far, with an import share of more than 330,000 cubic meters.

From an average price point of view, unlike the large fluctuations in the same period last year, the price of Swedish timber imported in the first nine months of this year has basically remained stable and is overall lower than last year's level. In the absence of significant growth in market demand, the price of imported Swedish timber is expected to remain low throughout the year.

Judging from the fact that my country's timber export trade can achieve a year-on-year growth of 77%, Sweden's timber trade is growing, which is also due to Sweden's growing demand for timber export solutions, especially the emphasis on timber products at ports and terminals. transportation handling capabilities. As Sweden's port transportation capacity continues to improve, Sweden's timber product exports will be more efficient in the future, and its timber trade with the global market will be closer.
