Deep carbonized wood is also called fully carbonized wood and homogeneous carbonized wood. It is wood treated by high-temperature carbonization technology of about 200 degrees. Because its nutrients are destroyed, it has better anti-corrosion and insect-proof functions. Because its water-absorbing functional group hemicellulose is reorganized, the product has better physical properties.

Deep carbonized preservative wood is a green and environmentally friendly product. It has anti-corrosion and insect-proof properties, but does not contain harmful substances. It not only improves the service life of wood, but also does not cause waste in the production process and after use. and any negative impact on the environment.

Carbonized wood features

Through the above brief introduction, we have understood that surface carbonization is mainly the surface carbonization of wood, and deep carbonization is more complicated. Next, I will show you a brief understanding of the process of deep carbonization of wood!

Basic process of deep carbonized wood process

1. Heating up, drying at high temperature

With heating, the kiln temperature rises rapidly to 100°C.

Then, when the temperature rises to 130°C and remains stable, the wood kiln drying begins and the moisture content drops to almost zero.

2. Heat treatment

Once kiln drying begins, the temperature inside the kiln rises to between 185°C and 215°C. Depending on the final use of the carbonized wood, this temperature will last for 2-3 hours.

3. Air conditioning and humidity adjustment

The final stage is cooling using a water spray system; when the temperature drops to 80-90°C, humidification starts again, bringing the wood moisture content to a usable level of 4-7%.

The difference between surface carbonization and deep carbonization

The carbonization process is divided into surface carbonization and deep carbonization. So what are the differences between surface carbonized wood and deep carbonized wood? Next we distinguish them from several aspects:

Different processing technology

The surface carbonized wood is grilled with an oxygen welding torch, so that the surface of the wood has a thin carbonized layer. The change in the properties of the wood can be compared to the paint of the wood, but better than the paint, it can highlight the uneven wood grain on the surface, so that the The wood grain creates a three-dimensional effect.Deep carbonized wood is wood that is subjected to short-term pyrolysis modification treatment at 180°C to 250°C in order to improve the dimensional stability and durability of wood in an environment that blocks oxidation and hydrolysis reactions.

different materials

The surface carbonized wood is mainly Douglas fir, sylvestris pine and red pine. Among them, because the Nordic red pine itself is hard and compact, and does not have a very unique and beautiful V-shaped texture, the Nordic red pine carbonized wood has better corrosion resistance than ordinary carbonized wood, and has a longer life than other carbonized woods in the same use environment. , The strength of the wood structure is stronger, and the heavier is that its carbonized layer has a beautiful texture and a good decorative effect.

Douglas fir carbonized wood

The deeply carbonized wood is mainly pine sylvestris, southern pine, and Finnish wood can also be deeply carbonized. The quality of carbonized wood has a lot to do with the material of the log itself. The wood itself has excellent performance, and the carbonized wood made is naturally a high-quality product.

However, some of them will have special properties due to the particularity of the wood itself, such as southern pine. It is wood that does not crack. Moisture resistance, not easy to deform. It is an excellent moisture-proof wood, with the same color inside and outside, soft silk-like luster, clearer texture and warmer hand feel; its processing performance is good, and it overcomes the drawbacks of fluff on the surface of the product. It is completely degreased and easy to coat.
