Particleboard (Particleboard) A general term for boards made from wood chips. According to the pressing method, it is divided into particleboard such as extrusion, flat pressing, and rolling. ①Extrusion method. The dried scraps are sprayed with a certain amount of rubber powder and additives, and a continuous strip is extruded from the heating die. It can produce solid boards with a bulk density of 0.55-0.65 g/cm3 and hollow boards with a bulk density of 0.25-0.4 g/cm3. The thickness of the plate is 10 to 75 mm, and the minimum thickness of the hollow plate is 22 mm. Its longitudinal flexural strength is low and generally requires veneer to increase strength. ② flat pressing method. The glued particle slabs are sent between the parallel hot pressing plates of the hot press and are made by the pressure of the vertical plate surface, which can produce single-layer, three-layer, and loose-core plates. Its vertical and horizontal directions are high in strength. The new varieties put into production include composite particleboard, core material-oriented particle board, fiber particleboard, waffle board (a kind of structural particleboard made of phenolic resin adhesive bonding large pieces of thick shavings), and so on. ③ rolling method. It is pressed into thin particleboard with a thickness of 1.6 to 8 mm with a rolling machine. In addition, there are cement particleboards made of crushed materials and cement as the main materials. The physical and mechanical properties of the flat-pressed particleboard are shown in Table 3. wood-based panel

Particleboard with low bulk density is mainly used as thermal insulation and sound absorption material, and particleboard with medium bulk density is widely used in construction and furniture. Oriented structural boards can be used as external wall components, look boards, and core boards of plywood. Cement particle boards have good thermal insulation and moisture resistance and are used for prefabricated houses or buildings. External walls, partition walls, etc.

The secondary processing of wood-based panels has been developed to make various decorative panels. Common ones are thin veneer decorative panels, synthetic resin-impregnated paper films or PVC film veneer decorative panels, paint-coated decorative panels, and direct printing. decorative panels, etc. After secondary processing, the wood-based panel, especially the beautiful embossed wood grain pattern formed by printing and molding, has the characteristics of strong three-dimensional effect, high surface hardness, wear resistance, heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, etc. It is suitable for indoor, Exterior decoration as well as carriages, furniture, and so on.
